Catalogado como monumento histórico, este puente norte-sur de cuarenta metros de longitud data probablemente de finales del siglo XV o principios del XVII. Durante la Edad Media, los puentes y vados de madera fueron sustituidos progresivamente por puentes de piedra. Hasta 1863, año en que se construyó la carretera departamental que une San Juan de Luz con Cambo y más allá, éste era el único medio de cruzar el Ur-Ertsi (nombre que recibe el río Nivelle en este punto) y llegar al pueblo.
Tras las inundaciones de 1983, que lo destruyeron parcialmente, el puente se reconstruyó de forma idéntica.
