En 1893, el Souvenir Français erigió un monumento a la memoria de un joven soldado de infantería, Louis Rossat, que murió como un héroe en la noche de los combates del 11 de octubre de 1870, y que permaneció durante mucho tiempo como símbolo del valor y la devoción de los soldados del Ejército del Loira.
