Southport yace en el Mar Irlandés sobre la costa del Noroeste de Inglaterra y por el norte por el Estuario Ribble. El pueblo está situado a 16,5 millas al norte de la ciudad de Liverpool y 14,8 millas al suroeste de la ciudad de Preston en Lancanshire.
