Tatoi es una antigua finca real a unos veinte kilómetros al norte de Atenas.
La propiedad fue adquirida por el rey Jorge I en 1872, y allí construyó una explotación agrícola y ganadera así como una villa para poder pasar el verano con su familia. Asimismo la zona sur sirvió desde entonces como panteón real, estando allí enterrados cinco reyes de Grecia. Durante los accidentados reinados de sus sucesores Constantino I, Alejandro I y Jorge II, la finca y sus edificios sufrieron varias vicisitudes, desde reformas y modernizaciones a incendios y saqueos.
