La diócesis de Bressanone es una diócesis católica romana situada en Italia. La diócesis pertenece a la provincia eclesiástica de Trento y es sufragánea del archidiócesis de Trento.
Se cree que la diócesis fue fundada alrededor del año 350 por san Casiano de Imola. Él es venerado en Brixen. No está seguro si Casiano fue realmente el primer obispo. Se cree que se formó como consecuencia de la caída del Imperio Romano. La sede episcopal de Augusta Vindelicorum se trasladó a Säben y a partir de ese momento fue sufragánea del patriarcado de Aquileya. Entre 572 y 577, un obispo de Säben estuvo presente en un sínodo episcopal en Grado. El primer obispo de Säben conocido por su nombre data del 579 y es el santo Ingenio. Bajo Carlomagno, Säben fue sufragáneo del archidiócesis de Salzburgo. En ese momento, la diócesis también incluía el valle de Oberinntal, el valle de Mittlere Inntal, una gran parte del valle de Eisack y el valle de Puster.
