La batalla de Montaperti se libró el 4 de septiembre de 1260 entre las repúblicas de Florencia y Siena en la Toscana como parte del conflicto entre los güelfos y gibelinos. Ganó notoriedad por un acto de traición que cambió el curso de la batalla, que fue inmortalizada por Dante Alighieri en su poema la Divina Comedia.
