La Bolsa de Zuid-Beveland es un paisaje a pequeña escala que se caracteriza por pequeños pólderes y numerosas dikes interiores. El área se formó a través de innumerables pequeñas reclamaciones de tierra, que comenzaron en el siglo XII por los monjes de San Bavo de Gante. De ellos proviene el nombre Beveland. La Bolsa de Zuid-Beveland es una hermosa área con importantes valores naturales y paisajísticos como ciénagas, tilos fronterizos, arroyos, montículos de arena y pequeños pueblos. Por ello, en 1994, el gobierno designó la Bolsa de Zuid-Beveland como Paisaje Cultural Valioso.
