Schipluiden es un lugar en el municipio neerlandés de Midden-Delfland. El nombre se menciona por primera vez a mediados del siglo XII. Se deriva del río Leede, que se hizo navegable en Schipluiden. Varios nombres de lugares en los alrededores hacen referencia a la Leede.
En la Harnaschpolder de Schipluiden, en el verano de 2003, se excavó el asentamiento permanente más antiguo conocido de los Países Bajos. En el período de 3600 a.C. a 3300 a.C. vivieron aquí personas en una duna de 150 por 50 metros, que tenía entre uno y dos metros de altura. El pueblo estaba vallado para mantener el ganado suelto fuera, y los habitantes cultivaban cebada y mijo.
