La aldea Deurne es el tema de una de las canciones más famosas en la lengua neerlandesa "La aldea". Esta canción fue interpretada por Wim Sonneveld. Musicalmente, es una versión de La montagne de Jean Ferrat. La letra en neerlandés fue escrita en 1965 por Friso Wiegersma (bajo el seudónimo de Hugo Verhage), la pareja de Sonneveld. El arreglo es de Bert Paige, quien también dirigió la orquesta. Sonneveld canta con emoción sobre el "pueblo" de Wiegersma al reencontrarse con el Deurne desgastado por el progreso. El conocido verso de la canción, Y a lo largo del camino de mi padre, se refiere al sendero junto a la casa parental de Wiegersma, el actual museo municipal De Wieger en la Oude Liesselseweg en Deurne. Este camino recibió el 14 de octubre de 2008 el nombre oficial de El camino de mi padre.
