Hasselt es un lugar en el municipio de Zwartewaterland en la provincia neerlandesa de Overijssel. Hasselt se encuentra a orillas del Zwarte Water y el Dedemsvaart. La ciudad está situada en el noroeste de la región histórica de Salland y en el límite sur de la Kop van Overijssel. En la Edad Media, Hasselt fue una ciudad hanseática. En la época moderna, fue un municipio independiente hasta que Hasselt se fusionó en 2001 con Genemuiden y Zwartsluis. Desde entonces, Hasselt es el centro administrativo del municipio de Zwartewaterland. El 1 de enero de 2021, la ciudad tenía 7.385 habitantes.
