Hoorn se encuentra al este de Lies y al oeste de Oosterend. Es un pueblo alargado con una construcción dispersa de granjas y viviendas. Gracias a la construcción de algunos nuevos barrios, Hoorn ha crecido desde mediados de los años setenta. Uno de los edificios más antiguos del pueblo es el cobertizo de la playa, que todavía se encuentra prácticamente en su estado original. Antiguamente, aquí se almacenaban las pertenencias recogidas, hoy en día es un almacén para todas las asociaciones en Oost-Terschelling. Característica es la iglesia medieval de San Juan. Es la iglesia más antigua de Terschelling. Junto a la iglesia está el Sjouw, una bola que se izaba para indicar a los trabajadores de los alrededores la hora del almuerzo.
