Baak es un pequeño pueblo neerlandés en la Achterhoek de Gelderland, municipio de Bronckhorst, entre Steenderen, Vorden y Wichmond, a unos diez km de Zutphen. Hasta 2004, Baak formaba parte del antiguo municipio de Steenderen.
Es incierto de dónde proviene el nombre Baak. Una posible explicación es que proviene de la palabra germánica 'baki', que significa arroyo. Esto podría ser una explicación lógica, ya que Baak se encuentra junto al arroyo Baakse. También se puede reconocer en el nombre de Baak la palabra en neerlandés medio 'beke', que también significa 'arroyo'. Una leyenda cuenta un origen diferente para el nombre del pueblo. Se dice que en Baak una vez hubo un ternero que terminó en la torre de la iglesia, que salió por la ventana y comenzó a mugir 'boaaak, boaaak'. Está claro que esto no es más que una leyenda popular.
