Gronsveld es un lugar en el municipio de Eijsden-Margraten en la parte suroeste de la provincia holandesa de Limburgo. Al norte se encuentra el municipio de Maastricht y al sur están los lugares de Eijsden y Rijckholt. El 1 de enero de 2021, Gronsveld tenía según el municipio 2.920 habitantes. Gronsveld se llamaba anteriormente Groesselt o Grousselt. La primera s era una s corta, para nosotros común, que se utilizaba como letra final, y la segunda una ſ, una s larga, que se utilizaba en otros lugares dentro de una palabra. La s corta estaba al final de la primera sílaba y la ſ al principio de la segunda sílaba. Por error al leer o al copiar, se fue creando Gronsfelt y más tarde Gronsveld.
