Nieuwendijk es un lugar en el municipio neerlandés de Altena en la provincia de Brabante Septentrional. Nieuwendijk tiene 3,660 habitantes en 1556 viviendas y dos barcas residenciales. La parroquia de Kille se encuentra adyacente a Nieuwendijk y perteneció de 1814 a 1950 al municipio de De Werken y Sleeuwijk, que se convirtió en el municipio de Werkendam. Nieuwendijk, por otro lado, pertenecía parcialmente a Emmikhoven y Waardhuizen, y parcialmente a Almkerk y Uitwijk. En 1879, estas se unieron para formar Almkerk c.a. Este municipio fue dividido en 1973, incorporando Nieuwendijk a Werkendam. A partir del 1 de enero de 2019, los tres municipios ubicados en Het Land van Heusden y Altena se fusionaron y se creó el nuevo municipio de Altena. El nombre fue propuesto y elegido por la población.
