Kotten es una aldea en la provincia neerlandesa de Gelderland. Kotten cubre un área de más de 13 km² y tenía 820 habitantes el 1 de enero de 2009. Aunque tiene un pequeño centro de pueblo, el lugar es formalmente una aldea. La dirección postal es Winterswijk-Kotten. Kotten está ubicada al este de Winterswijk. Entre Kotten y Winterswijk se encuentra la aldea de Brinkheurne. Kotten está cerca de la frontera con Alemania, justo al otro lado de la frontera se encuentra el pueblo alemán de Oeding, una aldea de Südlohn. A lo largo de la historia, hubo mucho tráfico con este pueblo, tanto comercio ordinario, contrabando y mezcla. Por lo tanto, muchos apellidos se pueden encontrar en ambos lados de la frontera.
