El Comité de Acción del Aeropuerto Gooisch pudo alquilar en 1938 una gran parcela de terreno al sur de Hilversum de la iglesia neerlandesa reformada en Naarden. Los prados fueron nivelados y drenados en 1938 como parte de un programa de empleo. Durante la Segunda Guerra Mundial, los ocupantes utilizaron el aeropuerto como puerto de escape y para vuelos de prueba. En 1948, el aeropuerto se ha utilizado hasta hoy para la aviación deportiva y sigue en uso hasta la actualidad.
