El Plateaux-Hageven es un área natural internacional de la Asociación Neerlandesa de Monumentos Naturales y del Naturalista Flamenco en el Parque Natural Fronterizo De Groote Heide. De esta área, más de 350 ha se encuentran en los municipios neerlandeses de Bergeijk y Valkenswaard y más de 150 ha en los municipios belgas de Neerpelt y Lommel.
