Schaijk es una localidad en el municipio neerlandés de Maashorst, en la provincia de Brabante Septentrional. Schaijk está situada en el noreste de Brabante Septentrional. El 1 de enero de 2021, Schaijk tenía 7.315 habitantes. El nombre Schaijk se escribía anteriormente como Scaeywijc, Scadewic o Schadewijk. La palabra wijk significa: asentamiento. Sche o scha significa bosque, se refería aquí a las tierras de ribera a lo largo del área de inundación del Mosa. Scha también podría derivar de schaat o schoot, un terreno delimitado. Las interpretaciones schaduw y schade son formas de etimología popular posterior.
