La fortaleza de Akershus es un complejo de edificaciones militares ubicado en Oslo, Noruega, y situado estratégicamente junto al fiordo de Oslo.[1] Fue fundada en la Edad Media como un castillo real, que servía también de sede para los representantes del rey.
En el siglo XVII fue modificado en estilo renacentista y rodeado de una fortaleza con bastiones. El complejo, de más de 700 años, ha sobrevivido a varios asedios, pero nunca ha sido conquistado por la fuerza por un ejército extranjero. Actualmente sirve como cuartel general, escuela de oficiales y espacio de alojamiento. Una parte de la fortaleza se utilizó durante un tiempo como cárcel y zona de trabajos forzados para reclusos durante el siglo XIX. Aún tiene funciones militares, y su protección corre a cargo de la Guardia de Su Majestad el Rey . También alberga la fortaleza el Museo Noruego de la Defensa, el Museo de la Resistencia y los ministerios de Defensa y de Medio Ambiente.
