Belém es una freguesia y distrito de Lisboa, la capital de Portugal. Fue creada el 8 de noviembre de 2012 en aplicación de una resolución de la Asamblea de la República de Portugal con la unión de las freguesias de São Francisco Xabier y Santa Maria de Belém.[1]Belém se encuentra en el oeste de Lisboa, al oeste de Ajuda y Alcântara y directamente al este de la frontera de Lisboa con Oeiras. Belém es famoso como barrio de museos, ya que alberga muchos de los monumentos más notables de Lisboa y Portugal, como la Torre de Belém, el Monasterio de los Jerónimos, el Padrão dos Descobrimentos y el Palacio de Belém . La población en 2011 era de 16.528. [2]
