El Altiplano Armenio o Meseta Armenia forma parte de la Meseta Transcaucasiana y constituye la prolongación de los montes de Cáucaso. La gran parte de la Meseta Armenia se encuentra en Turquía, abarca el Nor-Oeste de Irán y la totalidad de la República de Armenia. También se extiende al oeste de Azerbaiyán.
En total es un área de unos 400,000 km².[1] Su punto más alto es el monte Ararat, 5165 metros. Hay numerosos lagos en sus depresiones tectónicas . El nombre de Altiplano Armenio no se usa en los países vecinos de Armenia por motivos políticos e históricos.[2][3][4][cita requerida] En Turquía, el término generalmente utilizado es Región de Anatolia Oriental[cita requerida] .
