Utah es uno de los cincuenta estados que conforman los Estados Unidos de América. Su capital y ciudad más poblada es Salt Lake City .
Está ubicado en la región Oeste del país, división Montañas Rocosas. Limita al norte con Idaho, al noreste con Wyoming, al este con Colorado, al sureste con Nuevo México, al sur con Arizona y al oeste con Nevada. Con 12,57 hab/km² es el décimo estado menos densamente poblado, por delante de Nevada, Nebraska, Idaho, Nuevo México, Dakota del Sur, Dakota del Norte, Montana, Wyoming y Alaska, el menos densamente poblado. Fue el sexto más tardío en ser admitido en la Unión, el 4 de enero de 1896, como el estado número 45, por delante de Oklahoma, Nuevo México, Arizona, Alaska y Hawái.
