La commune d'Anras est située dans la partie est-tyrolienne de la vallée du Puster, traversée par la Drave. Elle se trouve à environ 15 kilomètres à l'ouest de Lienz.
Le territoire de la commune s'étend des deux côtés de la vallée, mais l'occupation se concentre principalement au nord de la Drave. Le village principal avec quelques hameaux se trouve sur la route panoramique du Puster, et il y a aussi des établissements dans le fond de la vallée.
