Ramsau im Zillertal est une commune de 1670 habitants dans la vallée de Ziller et fait partie du district de Schwaz en Tyrol. La commune se situe dans le district judiciaire de Zell am Ziller. Ramsau se trouve dans la partie arrière de la vallée de Ziller, à l'est du Ziller. Le territoire communal s'étend de 600 mètres au-dessus du niveau de la mer à Ziller jusqu'à la hauteur de 2350 mètres du Hochfeld. La commune a une superficie de neuf kilomètres carrés. Plus de la moitié de celle-ci est boisée, un quart est utilisé pour l'agriculture et neuf pour cent sont des alpages.
