Le musée d'Histoire de l'art de Vienne de Vienne, en Autriche est un musée d'art considéré comme l'un des premiers musées d'art ancien du monde.Planifié en 1867, sa construction débuta en 1871 sur la Ringstrasse. Le musée d'Histoire de l'art a ouvert ses portes le 17 octobre 1891 sous le règne de l'Empereur François-Joseph pour abriter les collections constituées au fil des siècles par la Maison des Habsbourg. Contrairement à de nombreux autres musées nationaux qui sont d'anciens palais, la fonction du bâtiment qui l'accueille a été fixée dès la construction.
