Le chalet Obstansersee est un chalet de catégorie I de l'association alpine Sektion Austria de l'Association alpine autrichienne, situé dans la partie est du massif des Carnes. Il est considéré comme un point de soutien important sur le chemin de haute montagne des Carnes. Le chalet Obstansersee se trouve sur la rive nord du lac éponyme, au milieu d'un petit bassin qui se situe à seulement quelques centaines de mètres au nord de la frontière avec la province italienne de Belluno.
