Cette digue souvent très haute vous mène à travers la zone naturelle de Panneweel, un paysage magnifique où les champs et les étangs jouent un rôle principal et où il y a aussi place ici et là pour des vergers à hautes tiges. Le paysage est agrémenté de poèmes qui sont affichés sur des panneaux. Ils sont l'œuvre de poètes originaires de ou venant de Meerdonk, comme Leo Vercruyssen et Victor Yvens. Si vous avez envie d'un pique-nique, vous êtes le bienvenu à l'aire de pique-nique de Natuurhuis Panneweel. Natuurhuis Panneweel se trouve sur une ancienne ferme, mais appartient maintenant à Natuurpunt. Les cyclistes et les randonneurs y sont toujours les bienvenus pour une pause. Derrière le bâtiment, VELT a planté un verger à hautes tiges.
