Labuissière est une section de la commune belge de Merbes-le-Château, située en Région wallonne dans la province de Hainaut.Le nom de Labuissière est cité en 1202, alors que le village possédait un château sur la rive sud de la Sambre. Ce château est nommé « château de Montellano », dont il ne reste aujourd'hui que des vestiges. C'était le siège d'une seigneurie étendue, qui comprenait les localités de Labuissière, Ghoy-sur-Sambre, Sars-la-Buissière et Merbes-le-Château. Ce domaine seigneurial appartint aux princes de Barbançon et en dernier lieu à la Duchesse de Montellano.
