Charleroi est une ville francophone de Belgique, située en Wallonie, province de Hainaut, sur la Sambre. C'est le chef-lieu de l'arrondissement administratif de Charleroi englobant 12 communes sur une superficie totale de 472,19 km2.Grand nœud routier et ferroviaire, Charleroi compte environ 200 000 habitants . Elle est ainsi la première commune wallonne, la deuxième agglomération wallonne après Liège en nombre d'habitants et la troisième commune belge. Ses habitants s'appellent les Carolorégiens .
