Adrien Blomme a construit cet édifice en 1922 pour Benezra, une entreprise de tapis orientaux. C'est l'un des premiers bâtiments Art Déco en Belgique, avec une touche moderniste due au design sobre.
Adrien Blomme se considérait comme un moderniste et s'intéressait aux nouvelles tendances architecturales. Cette façade remarquable avec un minimum d'éléments décoratifs reflète l'intérieur.
L'intérieur répond complètement à la fonction commerciale originale du bâtiment.
