Jeuk est un village limbourgeois relativement inconnu près de la frontière linguistique. Mais c’est ici que vivait autrefois une famille désormais connue qui a immigré en Wallonie. La famille de la célèbre femme politique wallonne Laurette Onkelinx. Ils ont déménagé à Ougrée. Jeuk était autrefois le premier village socialiste du Limbourg. De là, les ouvriers se déplaçaient quotidiennement vers les aciéries de Seraing et d’Ougré.
