's-Herenelderen est une section de la ville belge de Tongres située en Région flamande dans la province de Limbourg.'s Herenelderen a été mentionné pour la première fois en 1233. Elle formait avec Genoelselderen une région sous le nom d'Aldor. Ce mot pourrait signifier "aulnes" ou, peut-être, "autels". Le préfixe s Heren est apparu après sa séparation de Genoelselderen en 1261. Ensuite, on a parlé d'Eldris domini Wilhelmi, ou les Elderen du seigneur Guillaume, ce qui fait probablement référence à Guillaume de Hamal, qui est mort en 1279.
