Le complexe château actuel a été construit en 1903 par le baron Fernand de Beeckman et son épouse Emilie Wittouck, dont la famille en a hérité après la Révolution française. Il ne reste rien des bâtiments médiévaux en raison d'un incendie vers 1900. Après le décès de la baronne Wittouck (1947), le domaine a changé de propriétaire plusieurs fois. Finalement, l'association sans but lucratif Gezondheidszorg a géré pendant quarante ans un centre pour le tourisme social. À l'aube du nouveau millénaire, il était à nouveau temps de changer. Le domaine a été partagé entre plusieurs nouveaux propriétaires : Group Oostappen (camping), Twin Properties (maisons de vacances et hôtel), l'association sans but lucratif Gezondheidszorg (château) et Limburgs Landschap asbl (gestion de la nature et centre de visiteurs).
