Il ne faut pas beaucoup d’imagination pour s’imaginer sur le plateau de la grande série télévisée Downtown Abbey en parcourant le parc Den Brandt. On y entre par un majestueux porche donnant sur un petit jardin à la française qui débouche sur un château dont l’origine remonte à 1790. À l’arrière du château, se déploie un parc à l’anglaise qui accueille chaque année le célèbre festival Jazz Middelheim.
Le domaine de Park Den Brandt a encore bien d’autres atouts. Ses drèves et ses sentiers bordés de grands arbres invitent à la flânerie. Partez à la recherche du charmant cottage anglais au toit de chaume ou de la reproduction de la statue de David par Michel-Ange. Une autre découverte intéressante : le musée du bunker établi dans l’ancien quartier général local du Mur de l’Atlantique.
