Le Zuunbeek fait ici office de frontière naturelle entre les deux régions. Il passe sous le canal via un siphon, et s’écoule à l’air libre en rive droite sur une petite centaine de mètres, avant de se jeter dans la Senne, en souterrain, sous l’autoroute. A quelques centaines de mètres en amont, le Zuunbeek reçoit les eaux du Vogelzangbeek, ruisseau qui lui aussi marque la frontière entre les communes d’Anderlecht et de Sint-Pieters-Leeuw sur plus de 3 kilomètres. Ces dernières années, l’épuration des eaux usées et la reconstitution d’anciens méandres du Zuunbeek ont contribué à améliorer fortement sa qualité écologique et physico-chimique.
