Port-Valais est située sur la rive sud du lac Léman à l'embouchure du Rhône. Le Bouveret est la principale localité de la commune, Les Évouettes est la seconde.
La plage du Bouveret, situé sur le territoire de la commune, abrite une piscine de 25 mètres, un toboggan de 15 mètres, et un accès au lac Léman. La commune héberge des salles communales polyvalentes dénommées « Tauredunum » et un complexe sportif.
