Le château de Rosenberg est un château en ruine situé près des villages de Burghalden et Schachen au nord de la commune de Herisau dans le canton d’Appenzell Rhodes-Extérieures en Suisse.
En 1176, la famille noble de Rorschach apparaît pour la première fois dans les archives en tant que chevaliers au service de l’abbé de Saint-Gall. Au cours des siècles suivants, cette famille possédait un certain nombre de châteaux et produisait de nombreuses lignes distinctes, qui utilisaient toutes un rosier quelque part dans leurs armoiries. Vers 1200, ils construisirent deux châteaux près d’Herisau, l’un appelé Rosenberg, l’autre Rosenburg et distants d’environ 2,3 km. Le château de Rosenburg était situé près du Ramsenstock, une petite montagne avec un sommet de 926 m au-dessus du niveau de la mer, et est donc également connu sous le nom de Ramsenberg.
