Le lieu se trouve partiellement dans la zone du Hüggel, qui fait partie de la région naturelle protégée de la forêt de Teutobourg. L'altitude varie de 62 m à 228 m au-dessus du niveau de la mer. À Hasbergen se trouve le mont Rouge de 108 mètres de haut. À la limite nord du village, le Wilkenbach forme la frontière avec la ville voisine d'Osnabrück.
L'Hasbergen actuel est composé des anciennes communes indépendantes de Hasbergen, Gaste et Ohrbeck.
