Herrnhut est une ville de Saxe , située dans l'arrondissement de Görlitz, dans le district de Dresde.
La ville a acquis une renommée mondiale grâce à la fraternité évangélique qui porte son nom ou Unitas Fratrum. Fondée en Moravie en 1457, la communauté des Frères moraves fut persécutée en raison de son adhésion au protestantisme. Elle trouva finalement refuge en ces lieux en 1722.
