L'abbaye d'Hersfeld était une importante abbaye impériale bénédictine dans la ville de Bad Hersfeld en Hesse , en Allemagne, au confluent des rivières Geisa, Haune et Fulda.
Hersfeld est fondée par saint Sturm, disciple de saint Boniface, avant 744. Son emplacement le rendant vulnérable aux attaques des Saxons, il le transfert alors à Fulda. Quelques années plus tard, vers 769 après la défaite des Saxons face aux Francs, les Lullus et l'archevêque de Mayence, fonde à nouveau le monastère de Hersfeld.
