Ludwigsdorf est un village et un district appartenant à Görlitz depuis le 1er janvier 1999. Elle compte près de 900 habitants. Avec le village d’Ober-Neundorf, c’est la partie la plus septentrionale de la ville.
L’église de Ludwigsdorf a été construite vers 1175, selon les dernières recherches dendrochronologiques. Selon cela, Ludwigsdorf a probablement été fondée au cours de l’Ostsiedlung allemande. Il est évident que lorsque l’église a été construite, il devait y avoir une certaine prospérité pour gérer la construction et l’entretien de l’église. La majeure partie de la phase d’essouchage et de construction a dû être terminée en 1175.
