Le Landschulheim Kempfenhausen à Kempfenhausen au bord du lac de Starnberg est un lycée public avec un internat et une crèche intégrés, ce qui fait partie intégrante du système scolaire bavarois. Avec 14 autres internats bavarois, elle remplit le mandat légal de l’art. 106 BayEUG. Actuellement, environ 680 garçons et filles fréquentent l’école, dont environ 70 vivent dans l’internat.
En 1855, le maître de poste royal bavarois et propriétaire d’auberge Andreas Pellet de Starnberg a construit une maison de campagne avec des terrasses au bord du lac, un grand parc, une pépinière et un verger à Kempfenhausen, sur la rive orientale du lac de Starnberg, sur une ferme qu’il avait achetée.
