Le terrain d’atterrissage spécial Michelstadt est situé à l’ouest de Michelstadt dans le sud de la Hesse. Il est exploité par l’Aero Club Odenwald. Les motoplaneurs, les avions à moteur, les avions ultralégers, les modèles réduits d’avions et les hélicoptères sont autorisés sur le terrain d’atterrissage spécial.
En 1957, l’aéroclub Odenwald sur le Waldhorn à Michelstadt a commencé ses opérations aériennes avec une piste en herbe de 400 mètres de long. La première halle a été construite la même année. En 1975, la piste en herbe vallonnée a été nivelée et asphaltée. Un autre hangar a été construit en 1998.
