La Kinzig est une rivière allemande de 87 kilomètres située dans le sud de la Hesse. C’est un affluent droit de la Main. Il prend sa source dans les collines du Spessart à Sterbfritz, près de Schlüchtern. La Kinzig se jette dans le Main à Hanau. Le Main-Kinzig-Kreis a été nommé d’après la rivière. Les villes le long de la Kinzig sont Schlüchtern, Steinau an der Straße, Bad Soden-Salmünster, Gelnhausen et Hanau. Le Kinzig est enregistré pour la première fois en 815 après JC sous le nom de Chinzicha.
