Le Grand Belt est un détroit séparant les deux plus grandes îles du Danemark, Seeland et la Fionie. Il s'étire sur un axe nord-sud reliant le Cattégat à la mer Baltique.
Le Grand Belt se connecte au sud à la mer Baltique principalement via le canal Langelandbælt à l'est de l'île de Langeland, mais aussi par un petit canal Siøsund à l'ouest de cette même île, le long des côtes de Fionie.
