La vallée de la Côa, au nord du Portugal, est le plus important site d'art rupestre de plein air du Paléolithique supérieur de toute l'Europe. Il est inscrit depuis 1998 au patrimoine mondial de l'Unesco.
Des gravures rupestres sont connues en amont de la vallée depuis 1981, date de la publication de plusieurs figures attribuées au Paléolithique découvertes dans la zone de Mazouco . À une soixantaine de kilomètres plus au sud, dans la zone de Siega Verde, plusieurs figures datées de la même période ont été identifiées et publiées la même année.
