Le barrage d'El Atazar est un barrage en arc construit près de Madrid, en Espagne, sur la rivière Lozoya, très proche de l'endroit où la Lozoya rejoint le Jarama. Le design courbé du barrage est optimal pour le ravin étroit dans lequel il a été construit pour retenir l'eau dans le réservoir. Les barrages en arc sont fins et nécessitent moins de matériel pour être construits que d'autres types de barrages.
Lorsque le barrage a été construit, la décision a été prise d'utiliser le barrage uniquement pour stocker et réguler l'eau et non pour produire de l'énergie. La construction du barrage a commencé en 1968 et s'est terminée en 1972.
