L’abbaye de Vaucelles était un monastère de moines cisterciens. Fondée en 1131 par saint Bernard lui-même, elle est située à environ treize kilomètres au sud-ouest de Cambrai , dans la vallée de l’Escaut, sur la commune de Les Rues-des-Vignes. Elle fut supprimée en 1790.Elle comptait notamment dans ses murs la plus grande église abbatiale cistercienne du monde. Une grande partie de l’abbaye est totalement détruite, mais le contour des anciens bâtiments est marqué au sol. Le site abrite aussi un jardin médiéval qu’on peut visiter.
