Voiron est une commune française située dans la neuvième circonscription du département de l'Isère en région Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes et, autrefois, rattachée à l'ancienne province du Dauphiné.Voiron est la ville siège du Pays voironnais, regroupé en une communauté d’agglomération de trente-quatre communes et de plus de 90 000 habitants. La ville de Voiron seule compte environ 20 000 habitants. La cité ainsi que son agglomération appartient également à l'unité urbaine de Grenoble depuis 2010.
