Saint-Sulpice-la-Forêt est une commune française située dans le département d'Ille-et-Vilaine, dans la région Bretagne peuplée de 1 382 habitants. Elle fait partie du canton de Liffré et de l'intercommunalité Rennes Métropole.La commune est traversée par le ruisseau de Fresnay. Le bois du Fayel se trouve dans le sud du territoire de la commune tandis que la forêt de Rennes s’étend au sud et à l'est. Située à 15 km au nord-est de Rennes, entre l'A84 et l'ancienne route du mont Saint-Michel, la commune a une superficie de 672 ha, dont environ 74 ha urbanisés. Le bourg est à la fois situé à 6 km de Betton, de Liffré et de Saint-Aubin-d'Aubigné.
